Living in a world of fools

So many of my friends are going through a tough time right now, all because of that stupid thing we call heartbreak. 

We all know what it is. All we can think of is ‘why’, ‘I miss him/her’, ‘what if’, ‘maybe if I say or do this they’ll’.

Most of us go through stages; desperation, grief, denial, anger, acceptance, depression…

But the short and short of it, is that it completely sucks. It feels as though you’re life is over and you just can’t let them go. It’s one of the hardest things us as humans have to face. 

It sucks also because there is no cure. All we can do is listen to sad songs, have a good cry and get on with life. Take our minds off of it. But, I know, it’s so much easier said than done. Heartbreak takes away your appetite, taking away your energy, moving feels like a chore. But every single person in the world goes through heartache. We have to deal with it. We have to move on with our lives, no matter what happens. Happiness is a choice, all you have to do is take the right path.

That is why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing with marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don’t expect to get anything back, don’t expect recognition for your efforts, don’t expect your genius to be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability or arrogance, but simply because whatever it is no longer fits in your life. Close the door, change the record, clean the house, get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.
